Phone Rant

I absolutely despise the telephone.
Words can only come close to describing this hate.

I can't stand when people call you when your in the middle of doing something, and you tell them your busy, and they just keep on talking. I can't believe that it is acceptable to just call and interrupt people at any time of the day. The concept of the phone completely disgusts me.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the importance of telephone, and the good that has come from it. But when I'm sitting and watching a movie and someone calls me, It pisses me off.

"Hello? Hello? Hello?"
"Hey...."
"Hi...."
"What cha' doing?"
"I was actually in the middle of watching a movie"
"Oh really? Anyways I was calling to BLAH BLAH BLAH (45 minutes worth"

No. No. No. I loathe those conversations. They are completely one-sided because I'm trying to hang up, and they're trying to bore me to death.

Ohh and heres the biggie! Don't EVER keep calling someone after they failed to answer the first time. EVER. If someone doesn't answer their phone... its probably because they're not home, or they DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU! (*hint* Calling someone repeatedly and annoying the crap out of them will not make them want to talk to you).
And if its really important enough, I mean of the utmost importance, leave a message on the machine. People... If you call, and don't leave a message (multiple times) you didn't get to bug the person you were calling AND you didn't get the information to them. That makes you lower that a sales person.

I believe the telephone was a great invention... that went wrong. Really Wrong. Don't abuse your telephone people!

(By the way. I don't check the voicemail on my Cell. If your going to leave voicemail. Do it on the home phone. I'm sick of having that little voicemail symbol on my phone.)
